Weekly Update - UFO Edition

Hi guys and welcome to another weekly update!
Its been an interesting week in TVL, from drama to the just damn funny.
Last week I mentioned a EP Reward for members that help to recruit new and compentent raiders, This is STILL running, please ask whoever you get to apply to also put that YOU have sent them there to apply, if they complete their trial you will be awared with 1000 EP for nothing!
One thing I feel needs to be said is that quite a few people dont understand how the EPGP system works. It does NOT work like DKP.... it works on a priority system. So for example if you start hoarding EP, your EP decay will be drastic to the point of you will be coming to raids and earning no extra EP in a raiding week as you will lose just as much in the weekly decay. If you want a piece of armour... roll for it, dont wait for the OMG BiS epix... you will get it eventually.... you are just gimping both yourself and the rest of the raid. If people continue to play the system like this, we may have to look at punishing via -EP for those select few.
Last week we saw an argument in guild chat between Tarah and Wrwf which caused Braincracker to leave the guild?! Not entirely sure how that works, however we all wish him the best of luck with whatever he decides to do.
We've seen some new faces also around the guild by the names of -
Bloodypengu
Cowness
Deadlycatch
Novatrix
Soulcraft
And last but not least, Cobblepot (aka Kartha) who has been accepted for a trial after being a community member. So on behalf of the Officer team, Welcome to the guild!
We also said welcome and goodbye to Inot who seems to of been upducted by aliens ?  AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
So... now thats out of the way... raiding news ;D
RG1 - These guys have appeared to of caught up with RG2 on the boss kill side of progression, they are trying to perfect phase 2 of the Lich King fight. Congrats to them, the race for the first "King slayer" is now on!
RG2 - Not an awful lot of progress from what Ive been told, still having problems with regulars away on holiday, however supposedly back to full strenth for next week, good luck guys!
RG3 - Every week I get surprised by these guys, OK they're not the fastest progessing group, however, Festergut was 1shot, after weeks of wipes to 1 shotting every week, these guys are going from stregnth to stregnth, Rotface was also killed after 1 wipe. This was our first attempt at Rotface and I can safely say, that im highly impressed with how well everything seems to be coming together (at last). Just a reminder to RG3 members, we now run on a Monday and Tuesday evening due to the change in the 25 man raid days, please sign up for these days on your ingame calender.
25 Man - Putricide is FINALLY down. need I say more?
Just a note to the 25 man raiders, 25 man days are now Wednesday, Thursdays and Sundays. Again please sign up via the ingame calender for any raids you can attend, the more the better!

On a Final note, I ask all raiders to install EPGP Lootmaster, This will bring up a UI interface when loot is distributed(similar to the group loot UI in dungeons), makes the Master Looters life easier as they will know if you are interested and wether its for OS or MS.

Weekly updates - I hate this damn boss edition

Welcome once again to another weekly (or should it be Bi-weekly) update.
First of all, apologies as you can probly tell I have been slacking quite a bit and havnt had a weekly update for a while now, but from now on it should be a weekly occurence no matter what!
Ok NEWS TIME 
We are currently trialing a new "DKP" System called EPGP, If you are unsure on how this works, Please go into the raiding affairs forum and readup on it ;) but for a TL;DR version, EPGP doesnt work like DKP as a form of currency, it works on a priority system, so "EP" whoring is frowned upon and punished via a decay system, so if you want loot thats an upgrade no matter how minor, bid on it! otherwise you will just be hurting yourself in the long run ;)
We also now have a reward system for recruiting new players, If you recruit someone that is competent and attends at LEAST 50% of raids over a 4 week period, you will earn yourself 1000 EP's, so not only can you earn your EP in raids, but just by helping out around the guild will get you a bonus!
Raid days have changed. We are no longer running a Monday night raid, however we will be replacing the monday night raid with a wednesday night raid as of the 24th Feb 2010. Same times of 19:30 server time but just be sure your online for these new times
Kala's got his account back and he decided to finally end the silence and talk on vent!!! I think I speak for everyone when I say its about time!
Nerd has gone back to uni so we say farewell to him for the next few months untill his return again. I'd just like to say Good luck with your studys on behalf of everyone in TVL.
Hyloth has stepped down as an officer and we welcome Bobulus back to the ranks (from the frying pan into the fire comes to mind here). So if you have any questions or need help atall with guild related matters, just message an officer (especially bob as he will get stressed easily )
Recruitment is currently OPEN, While we do have a few spots for certain class/spec's as always exceptional applicants will be considered. (Pro tip : when making a raiding application, try to avoid using the template, it looks so much better on yourself!)
Raiding News
RG1 - A couple of weeks ago I raiding with RG1 due to kala's being hacked etc etc, We got putricide down fairly easily so i think its safe to say that RG1 has the plague wing on farm now, they are currently skipping the crimson halls untill the RG1 roster is back to its active self however they have downed Varimathras and went on to try Sindragosa, Grats to them! However at this point in time, RG1 seem to be having issues with Holidays and work etc, so progress isnt amazing at present, this should be fixed in the coming weeks.
RG2 - These guys are having awesome progress with all bosses, they are mainly looking at the achievments at present with most of the raiders having some of the harder ones. At present, RG2 have cleared upto and killed Sindragosa (if you dont know who she is or how annoying she is, open WoW with sound on, and DONT login for 20 mins). They're hoping for a Lich king kill in the coming weeks but seem to also be having issues with Holidays at present.
RG3 - I think I can say this one more time.... thank christ for that....
Yes, Festergut was FINALLY killed and now we're looking at getting the rest down as soon as possible to catch up with the progress. So a big WELL DONE to all and keep the good work up! 
25 Man - The main issue here is people want to show up for the "farm content" then really dont want to know when it comes to putricide or a new wing.
Over the coming weeks we are discussing options available to us to encourage you to sign up for the raids that are not farming content (Increased EP/hour, HUGE EP Bonuses on new boss kills, Extending raid lockouts etc etc)
So I encourage you all to sign up to the 25 man raids, even if its banging our heads against putricide, we WILL get him down it just takes FOCUS. Also with the new EPGP system, you are still earning "DKP" while in the raid, so your efforts are no longer going unrewarded!
Last night we downed the blood prince council, after a few atttempts of getting the feel for the fight, it seemed to come pretty naturally to us all so congratulations to all that attended, if we can keep this progress up and get everything down, we can start trying the more rewarding hardmodes!
Last but not least.... QUESTION TIME! (going to have to use forum names here as i dont know peoples forum names to ingame names )

If you have a look on http://mobile.blizzard.com/ you should be able to find the mobile authenticator, currently the only phones supported are ones that run Java (nokia n95 etc), Andriod phones and iPhones. For the Andriod and iPhone you can find the apps in your phones "App store". Any issues atall, just have a look through the blizzard site or the battle.net site.

Weekly update - 20/01/10 - 26/01/10

Hi guy's n gal's and welcome to another weekly update!
First things first, an important note for ALL members (especially raiders). GET AN AUTHENTICATOR!!, For those of you that dont already know, Kalasclaes was hacked this week, this then made alot of people lose focus and motivation in progress for ICC. So for the sake of the guild and more importantly yourselves, get an authenticator. You can either order one off the blizzard website or if you have a compatable phone, get the mobile authenticator for free.
Now to the 10 man groups -
RG1 hasnt had alot of progress this week, after speaking to Hyloth, it seems that after several Blood princes attempts, motivation was lost due to people not paying attention.
RG2 seems to be the only group progressing, with both blood princes and the blood queen down making them the first 10 man group in TVL to clear the crimson halls, congratulations to them!
RG3 again hasnt had alot of progress this week, again as was said last week, people need to buck there idea's up, signing up for raids and either not turning up or going AFK for hours at a time is unacceptable, Im sure others will agree with me, its not acceptable in the 25 man raids and its sure as hell not acceptable in 10 mans.
25 Man progress (yes there actually was some!) wasnt as much as we wanted it to be. Rotface was a GOOD clean kill, alot cleaner than the past 2 kills, so well done for that, people seem to be starting to pay attention.
Putricide was down to 11% and was looking like a good kill with a good 1 minute left on the enrage timer, unfortunately the main tank died and no combat res's were available
As was said to the guys present at the raid and ill say it now to ALL of you, watching your deadly boss mods for maleable goo and watching for the orange bottles on the floor needs MUCH improvement along with when STOP DPS is called on ventrilo. If you continue to fail in raids, you will be benched and replaced. It really is as simple as that.
As no questions were asked last week I have nothing to answer . For those of you that read WoW.com/WoWinsider think of asking quesions as a bit like "The Queue" section, You can literally ask anything and I will do my best to answer any questions I can, they dont have to be guild related!!!
As a final note I ask ALL raiders to read up on putricide tactics along with the Blood princes and Blood Queen fights. Tankspot and Elitist Jerks are your friends.
